We had a total of 50 swimmers show up to our new member nights! What a fantastic way to start the new swim season!

Even though the new member nights are past, we welcome new swimmers to the team all year long. If you would like more information about our team, fill out our new member information request form or contact either our head coach, Erik Wiken (coacherik@heartlandaquatics.org or 560-SWIM) or our new member representative, Toni Goldenstein, at membership@heartlandaquatics.org or 420-2006.

New Member Forms For insurance and administrative purposes, we do need some paperwork completed for all of our trial swimmers and new members. Below is a list of the paperwork that we need to have:

1. Completed USA Swimming Athlete Registration Application
2. Completed Heartland Aquatics Athlete Registration Form
3. Check for USA/Midwestern Swimming Registration Fees of $ 52.00. This check will be returned uncashed at the end of the free trial period if you do not choose to continue with the team. (Make check payable to 'Heartland Aquatics')
4. Copy of athlete's government-issued birth certificate or passport
5. If you are transferring to HLA from another USA Swimming team, you will also need a to complete and submit an Athlete Transfer Form. This form needs to be filled out and signed, and then a representative from your former club needs to sign the release section.

The above documents need to be turned in at practice or sent to the club mailing address. Annual Fees

USA Swimming Annual Membership This annual fee covers membership in USA Swimming.	(All Swimmers)	$52.00
HLA Annual Membership This fee covers membership in our local swim club. Note: this fee is prorated for additional family members to a maximum of $200 per family.	(High School Swimmers)	$90.00
	(All Other Swimmers)	$125.00

Seasonal and Monthly Practice Fees

Monthly Practice Fees These fees depend on the practice level of a swimmer attending one or more practices in any month. Discount of $10 per month applies for each additional swimmer from the same family.	Developmental	$45.00

High School Pre-/Post-Season Practice Fee For high school swimmers, this fee covers September 1st – March 31 Practice fees for April – July are at the Junior/Senior/National Level monthly rate above	(High School Swimmers) 50% Due September 15 Due in Full October 15	$150.00

Meet FeesThe cost of participation in swim meets throughout the year varies depending on the type of meet. Typically, there is a $5 charge to enter plus $2 - $5 per event. Meet fees will appear on the monthly statement for the calendar month in which the meet took place.

Apparel and EquipmentTeam suits are navy blue Speedo Aquablades and they are recommended, but not required. HLA swim caps are required for female swimmers at meets. Goggles are also a necessity! Each new swimmer will receive an HLA T-shirt. Latex caps, silicone caps, and additional team apparel are available to purchase separately. Some practice groups may have additional equipment requirements as determined by the coaching staff.

Monthly StatementsMonthly statements will be generated and distributed by the 15th of each month and are due by the end of that month. High School annual and seasonal fees are due in full by October 15th, with 50% due September 15th. Swimmer accounts must be kept current in order to preserve the right of each swimmer to attend practices and meets.

Families are encouraged to sign up to receive statements via e-mail; simply notify the club treasurer if you are interested in this option.

Discounts HLA offers the following discounts to our membership:

Short-course pre-payment:	Seven months (September – March) practice fees for the price of six; full payment is due by the end of September.
Multiple-child discount:	Regular monthly fee for the first swimmer then a discount of $10 per month for each additional swimmer. The HLA annual fee for additional swimmers is also prorated to ease the financial burden on families with multiple swimmers.
Referral discount:	Swimmers that refer a friend to HLA receive $10 off their next month’s practice fees once the new swimmer joins the club. This only applies to swimmers new to USA Swimming; we don't encourage recruitment of current members of other swim clubs.

Scholarship Information Scholarships are available to swim for HLA through The Village Foundation.
