A big thank you to everyone who helped to make the NA Summer Splash a great meet for all Heartland Aquatics swimmers and families!!

If you were one who volunteered your time to help set up, transport, and/or take down tents it was greatly appreciated. We also want to thank those of you who donated bottled water, bags of ice, and gatorade so that the swimmers and coaches could stay cool. (Thanks for keeping our coolers full!!) Another big thank you to those who volunteered as timers or meet officials.

Meet Registration Deadlines
Motel information for the Hastings meet is as follows:

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express at the I-80 Interchange for Grand Island. (Exit 312) The motel is located on the SW corner of the interchange. The contact number is 308-384-5006.

Cornhusker State Games - July 18th & 19th: For those of you new to this meet, the sign-up process is different than other meets. Individual swimmers must sign up on their own via the Cornhusker State Games website. (www.cornhuskerstategames.com) The registration deadline is Monday, June 22nd. Registration cost is $27.00 per individual for the first event, $2.00 per each additional event. There is a $5.00 late charge for those registering June 23rd - June 29th.  Swimmers may swim a maximum of 4 individual events per day. Relays may be formed the days of each meet and need to be paid for at that time.  12&U events are scheduled for the mornings, 13 & over events are scheduled for the afternoons. Once you are to the Cornhusker State Games website you'll need to click on 2009 games, then on Aquatics-Swimming. You will then select the USA Swimming Approved Meet that fits your particular age division.

Team CommunicationHave you been getting the event reminders, meet entry listings, and team updates from Coach Erik? If not - we need your email address! In addition to the web site and practice hotline, email is used extensively to communicate club information to swimmers and parents. Just click the link below to give us your address.

New Member Forms
For insurance and administrative purposes, we do need some paperwork completed for all of our new members. Below is a list of the paperwork that we need to have:

1. Completed USA Swimming Athlete Registration Application
2. Completed Heartland Aquatics Athlete Registration Form
3. Check for USA/Midwestern Swimming Registration Fees of $ 51.00. This check will be returned uncashed at the end of the free trial period if you do not choose to continue with the team. (Make check payable to 'Heartland Aquatics')
4. Copy of athlete's government-issued birth certificate or passport (Only needed at the end of the 2-week trial period)
5. If you are transferring to HLA from another USA Swimming team, you will also need a to complete and submit an Athlete Transfer Form. This form needs to be filled out and signed, and then a representative from your former club needs to sign the release section.

The above documents need to be turned in at practice or sent to the club mailing address. If you have any questions at all, just send an e-mail to membership@heartlandaquatics.org or call Coach Erik at 560-7946.

Meet Sign-Up Instructions
Remember to use the web site form to sign up for swim meets. Here are the instructions for using the form:

1. Go to our Meet Schedule page.
2. Click on the name of a meet to open the ''Meet Sign-Up'' form.
3. Click on the ''Meet Info'' link on the form to open the meet flyer in a new window.
4. Look through the flyer and choose which events you would prefer to swim.
5. Plug those events into the form, or indicate on the form that you would like a coach to pick your events.
6. Click the ''Submit'' button and the entries will be available for Coach Erik to review.

Head Coach Phone Number
Coach Erik's cell phone number is 560-SWIM (560-7946). Please note that normal hours of operation for the cell phone are weekdays from 12:00 noon - 9:00 pm, and from 1 hour before to 1 hour after HLA swim meet sessions. Outside of these hours, please leave a voice mail message.

Attention on Deck...
Due to liability/insurance reasons, we need to ask that parents not wait inside the pool area (on deck) for your swimmer(s) at Lincoln Southeast or any other LPS school. If the doors are locked to the seating area upstairs, please ask a coach to open them, or wait outside the pool area. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
